Peter John DeLuise was born in New York city to proud parents, the late actor and comedian Dom DeLuise, and actress Carol Arthur. Peter spent his elementary and high school days in Los Angeles, where he worked on many theater productions until he graduated. Rather than pursue a traditional post-secondary education, Peter decided to get an agent and pursue acting full time. After guest starring on popular shows like Different Strokes and The Facts of Life, at the age of 20 Peter landed the lead role of Officer Doug Penhall opposite Johnny Depp on Fox’s 21 Jump Street.

The series aired for five years, with a total of 103 episodes, and in that time solidified a stable audience for Fox, which was at the time a newly launched fledgling network. The show was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, and was Peter’s first taste of working in Canada.

It was obviously a positive experience as it is now where he resides full time with his family. 21 Jump Street was one of the first American television series’ to film in Vancouver, and helped to establish the city as a major area for film production. The show guest starred a lot of additional up and coming young talent such as Brad Pitt, Josh Brolin, Vince Vaughn, and Christina Applegate.

21 Jump Street was also where Peter began to try his hand working behind the camera, and started to fall in love with directing.

After the final season of 21 Jump Street, Peter went on to play series regular and fan favorite, Dagwood for two seasons on SeaQuest DSV, which was filmed in Orlando, Florida.

While Peter continued to work as an actor guest starring on popular shows such as Friends, 3rd Rock From The Sun, The Outer Limits, Highlander and Andromeda, his love of working behind the camera kept growing and he began to direct episodes of Higher Ground, V.I.P., The Outer Limits, Andromeda, and Jeremiah, on which he also acted as a consulting producer.

It was during his time working on Higher Ground in Vancouver where Peter met and fell in love with his wife, Anne Marie Loder, a lead actress on the popular drama. The two knew it was the real thing right away, and were married three years later.

They are now proud parents themselves to their beautiful and hilarious son named Jake.

Peter began his work on the Stargate franchise in 1998, and over the course of the next several years, directed 69 episodes, wrote 17 episodes, and produced 84 episodes of Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, and SGU Stargate Universe combined.

With over 200 episodes and 10 seasons, Stargate SG-1 surpassed The X-Files as the longest-running North American science fiction television series, a record that has only ever been broken by Smallville.

Peter has directed many other television shows such as jPod, Kyle XY, Tower Prep, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, Level Up and Cedar Cove, as well as made for TV movies such as Disney’s 16 Wishes, Syfy’s Beyond Sherwood Forest and most recently Hallmark’s Garage Sale Mystery.

Peter was also the director and consulting producer on two pilot presentations for Cartoon Network: Attention Students and Aliens in the House. He also worked as a Supervising Producer for Cartoon Network’s Level Up.

Peter’s passion for acting will always be a part of his life, and most recently he was seen on Supernatural, Sanctuary, Painkiller Jane, Mr. Young and in the 21 Jump Street film starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.

He has received Leo nominations for directing and two Leo nominations for writing.
